NEW FOR 2017, GOLFERS DO NOT HAVE TO BELONG TO A REAL

ESTATE CLUB TO PLAY STATE DAYS. MEMBERS OF THE LAKESIDE

GOLF CLUB ARE ELIGIBLE IF THEY PAY VSWGA DUES.

Each golfer is responsible for maintaining a current, updated GHIN Handicap Index

through her golf club. Anyone who cannot obtain a current, updated GHIN card may

download a copy of her scoring record from www.ghin.com. Revisions are updated

on the 1st and 15th of each month.

A player must have a Handicap Index of 36.0 or lower to participate in her first State

Day of the season. Should her index go above 36.0 during the season, she may still

Play.

Players will play to their full Course Handicap, which is no longer capped. For

example, a player with a 36.0 HI would have a Course Handicap of 39 at a course

with a slope of 123. Handicap Waived players will play to the full Course Handicap

for their Handicap Index. Equitable Score Control (ESC) or score adjustment applies

for posting purposes.

At season’s end, if a player’s Handicap Index remains above 36.0, she may not play

at the beginning of the next season until her index returns to 36.0 or lower. She may

submit her VSWGA dues so she will be ready to play when it does.

   * At the May 8, 2009 Board meeting, a motion was passed that all participants with a maximum handicap index of 36.0 will play at their fully allocated USGA Course Handicap beginning with the VSWGA 2010 season.
