State Day Tee Time System Approved
![]() |
In a special meeting of VSWGA club representatives held Tuesday, January 15 at the Rutland Country Club, a proposal was presented by the board to purchase a computerized phone system to handle state day tee time reservations. The system involves the purchase of a COMPAQ computer, customized software from Chelsea Information Systems, and a centrex phone system. The cost of the system is approximently $13,000. After a brief overview of the system by VSWGA president Kathy Domenicucci, and a lengthy question and answer session, the club representatives voted unanimously in favor of purchasing the system. The meeting was well attended in spite of the winter driving conditions and the fact that many people are away for the winter months. Many club reps mailed proxy votes. The final vote including the proxy votes was 57 to 4. In the coming weeks, the board members and task force members will be working with Chelsea to define the system requirements. We hope to have the system available for testing this spring with the intention of getting it on line in mid-summer. More information will be posted on this project in the coming weeks. In the meantime, you can access the Chelsea web site (www.chelseainfo.com) for more information. As you look that the information on their web site, keep in mind that they are illustrating a system used primarily by clubs for managing their own tee times. The system that we purchase will be customized to handle states days at multiple courses over the summer tournament period. |
