Public Links Qualifier at Okemo Valley Golf Club


A sectional qualifier for the 2002 USGA Women's Amateur Public Links Championship will held at Okemo Valley Golf Club in Ludlow on May 29, 2002 (rain date of Thursday, May 30). The qualifier is an 18-hole event with morning tee times. Entries are open to amateur golfers who were females at birth and, since January 1 of the current year, have been bona fide public course players, and have not held privileges of any course which does not extend playing privileges to the general public.

Exceptions: A bona fide public player may hold incidental privileges of a course not open to the public when such privileges are provided by (1) an educational institution at which she is a student, or (2) a federal armed service of which she is a member or retired member or (3) an industry by which she is employed or from which she is retired.

There is no handicap limit requirement.

The USGA will be sending entry forms to Shari Pfannenstein and anyone who is interested can contact her at pfanner@aol.com. Also, interested people can log onto www.uswapl.org to find out more information about the Women's Amateur Public Links Championship. Sometime early in March, entry forms for the actual Championship will be available at www.usga.org/champs/apply/coming_entry_applications.html, and more information regarding eligibiity etc. will be available there.
