The West Bolton club walked away with most
of the hardware at this year's Final State Day Awards Luncheon at The Quechee
Club. Kathy Sikora of West Bolton won the Janet Lang Trophy for the most points in state days during the
2003 season with a total of 77 points in close race over Jan Bader of Vermont
National (74 points) and Delina Gilroy of West Bolton with 73 points.
Maria Stowell of Essex and Claire Wilcox of Williston each had 70 points..
The Genevieve Babbitt Smith Memorial Trophy for the individual who lowered her handicap
the most during the 2003 season went to Delina Gilroy also of West Bolton who
lowered her handicap by 7.3 strokes this past year in E
Division. Other players receiving awards for lowering their handicaps were
Charlie Sue Catlin of Barre (A Division) - 15.2 to 12.3, Wendy Pierson of
Rocky Ridge - 20.3 to 16.9 and Marilyn Patton of Barre - 20.4 -17.0 (B Division),
Donna Roby of Champlain (C Division) - 24.3 - 18.5, and Nina Tasi of Green
Mountain National (D Division) - 27.1 - 22.5.
The Mae Murray Jones Trophy for the Division I club with the most points went to Williston for the fourth consecutive year with 72 points. The Division II award went to West Bolton and Vermont National who tied with 56 points while the Division III award went to Copley with 23 points.
