Kiersten Allbright to Play in China
Kiersten
Allbright has qualified for an all-expense paid trip to China to participate
in a tournament in Beijing, China scheduled for October 14-22, 2004.
Kiersten is a regular player on the West Coast Ladies Golf Tour (WCLGT) and
participated in their inaugural 2004 Orient Masters - WCLGT Xiamen Open which
was played in Xiamen, China on February 22-25, 2004. This event was history making
as it is the first women's professional golf tour that has played on mainland
China. Kiersten finished in 9th place in this event qualifying her for
the full sponsorship for the Beijing event this fall. All of her
expenses, including airfare, will be paid by the WCLGT.
Kiersten's mom, Kathy Allbright, has been invited to attend the Beijing event as a Rules Official. Her expenses will also be paid by the WCLGT. Kathy has been busy boning up on the rules and Chinese. Kathy and husband Jeff are well-known and highly-regarded by the WCLGT as they have attended several events to support Kiersten. Kathy also participated in one of the events as an amateur.
Kiersten currently stands in 29th place on the WCLGT money list with earning for this season of over $4000. Shortly after the China event, Kiersten will head to Florida to participate in the Futures Tour Qualifier to be held in Lakeland November 2-5, 2004. We wish Kiersten the best of luck in both of these events.
