Molly Aronsson Headed to Pac-10
Molly Aronsson, of
Shelburne and the Burlington Country Club, has signed a national letter of
intent to play golf for the University of Washington in Seattle. She was
offered a four year scholarship. Starting the season, the University of
Washington was ranked 8th in Division I women's golf. Paige MacKenzie,
who is the number one collegiate player in the country, is a senior on the
team. Molly is excited to be heading west and playing in the west coast
Pac-10 conference.
Molly is featured in the 2005 USGA annual catalog as an ice hockey goalie and hopes to play some hockey on the men's club team in Seattle.
For the past three seasons, Molly has moved steadily up in the standings in the VSWGA State Amateur Championship. This year, Molly was the runner-up to Reggie Parker in the championship at Crown Point Country Club. She finished 5th in 2004 and 7th in 2003 and has been the low junior player all three years. She was the 2004 Junior Girls' Match Play Champion and the runner-up in the 2003 junior championship. This year, Molly qualified for the USGA Junior Girls' Championship.
