Final State Day Awards

Diane Bouffard of Cedar Knoll won the Janet Lang Trophy for the most state day points in the 2006 season with 86 points.  Helene Poulin of Rocky Ridge was second with 73 points and Lisa Patton of Ralph Myhre was third with 70 points.

The Genevieve Babbitt Smith Memorial Trophy for the individual who lowered her handicap the most during the 2006 season went to Gwenn Chisholm of St. Johnsbury who lowed her handicap from 37.1 to 28.3 (9.4 strokes) in D Division.   Other players receiving awards for lowering their handicaps were Debbie Kirsh of the Country Club of Vermont (A Division) - 14.8 to 12.3, Betty Cerasoli of Williston (B Division) - 20.5 to 17.4, Sandra Towns of St. Johnsbury  (C Division) - 29.4 to 22.3,  and Yvette Pigeon of Burlington (E Division) - 36.7 to 33.2..

The Mae Murray Jones Trophy for the Division I club with the most points went to both Burlington Country Club and Williston Country Club who tied with 63 points each.  Williston has won the trophy for the past six consecutive years while Burlington was a close second last year.  The Division II award went to St. Johnsbury Country Club  with 58 points while the Division III award went  to Tater Hill Country Club with 25 points.  

There were 3 holes-in-ones scored during the 2006 season.  Ginnie Vogel of Crown Point recorded her 8th career hole-in-one during the Senior Championship at Enosburg Falls on July 19th.  Terry Kelly of Orleans scored an ace at her home club during the Orleans state day on August 1st.  Andrea Brown of Williston had a hole-in-one at the Enosburg Falls state day on August 22nd.
