Course Rating Seminars
The USGA announces that registration for the 2008 National Course Rating Calibrations has been posted to the USGA Web site and delegates can be enrolled immediately. There will be three calibration seminars in the United States as follows:
January 13th-14th, PGA Village, Port St. Lucie, FL
February 24th-25th, La Jolla Country Club, La Jolla, CA
April 27th-28th, Midwest Golf House, Lemont, IL
To register online, go to this link and enter the password (slope, all lowercase as it's case sensitive):
http://www.usga.org/playing/handicaps/committee_logins/associations_website_login.asp.
You will find a brochure for each seminar with a tentative agenda and hotel information as well as the online registration form. Each association can register a maximum of four delegates for the seminar.
Registration can also be accomplished via fax or surface mail. Feel free to print the online registration page and fax or mail it to the USGA Handicap Department at 908-234-1513 or contact Ms. Jo Vargas at 908-234-2300, ext. 1428 if you have any questions or need assistance with registration.
Please note that the USGA requires that attendees have 3 years experience rating courses and that anyone wishing to attend and have their expenses reimpursed by the VSWGA would need Board approval in advance.
Additionally, there will be a USGA Course Rating Seminar, open to anyone, on May 30th. The Quechee Club has agreed to host this seminar. There will be no fee, but there will be nominal charge for lunch. The Seminar will be held in the "Murphy Farm" building at Quechee and not the club house.
Any questions should be directed to the VSWGA Course Rating Chairperson: Carolyn Barbieri at wrbarbieri2000@yahoo.com.
