Board of Directors / Committee Chairs

Place: Via e-mail, no physical location
Participants:
Sue Ginnett, Elizabeth Walker, Phyllis Simon, Cheryl Hoar, Tracy Sloan, Nancy
Myers, Pat Job, Roberta Lynch, Mary Corey, Cindy Paquet, Harriet Parot,
Suzanne Neville, Jeanne DiBattisto, Kathy Allbright, Carolyn Barbieri, Shari
Pfannenstein, Mary Ann Levins.
Recorded
by: Mary Corey
President’s
Report: Sue Ginnett e-mailed the June Agenda as follows:
Jeanne
DiBattisto sent Sue Ginnett an email in December stating that she has worked
47.5 (changed from 10 hours to 47.5 per
e-mail from Jeanne DiBattisto dated 5/12/08) hours more than originally
agreed upon and asked that she be reimbursed for those hours.
Motion
1: I make a motion to pay Jeanne
DiBattisto for the 47.5 hours (see
attached e-mail) that she worked over the agreed upon number of yearly
hours.
Jeanne
DiBattisto and Marilyn Patton are going to attend a Calibration Seminar being
held here in Florida (in Orlando I believe) sometime in the month of January.
They have asked to be reimbursed for expenses involved with
registration, travel, and accommodations.
Since both Jeanne and Marilyn winter in Florida travel expenses will
not be as expensive as if they were traveling from Vermont.
I personally think that their attending this seminar will prove very
useful in terms of VSWGA rating teams and of meeting obligations that Harriet
has told us about.
Motion
2: Reimburse Jeanne DiBattisto
and Marilyn Patton for expenses for registration, travel, and accommodations
incurred in attending the calibration seminar to be held in Florida in January
2008. Said reimbursements should
not exceed $750. per person.
In
regard to the 1st Tee Program, Suzanne will represent the VSWGA as
one of six groups interested in sponsoring the 1st Tee Program in
Vermont. A grant was written and
submitted for monies to run the program.
However, as a condition of receiving the grant we (Vermont) would need
to match the grant monies. Six
organizations will provide the matching funds, the VSWGA and VGA being two of
the six.
Suzanne
is asking that the VSWGA donate $3,000. toward our portion of the matching
funds. The VGA is also donating
money.
Since
the 1st Tee Program in Vermont is going to be run through the
Physical Education classes of those elementary schools who applied we can
assure that the money will be used for both girls and boys.
Seeing that both the VSWGA and the VGA are contributing monies for the
program we should be in compliance with using monies specifically set aside
for junior girls golf.
However,
we can always donate the money and specify what percentage each school would
be given based upon the percentage of boys and girls participating in the
program.
Motion
3: Move that the VSWGA donate
$3,000. to the 1st Tee Program and that the money is taken from the
fund whose designated use is for junior girls golf.
I also, move that the 1st Tee Program should include all
those schools that applied for the program.
Everyone
should have received a document from Kathy Allbright that is the proposed
Stableford Competition. We might
try playing the Stableford Format at some of our State Days this summer.
If you did not receive Kathy’s e-mail with the attached Stableford
proposal, please ask her to send you a copy.
Kathy,
Jane Becker and the Stableford Committee would like the VSWGA Board and
Committee Chairs to review the proposal and come to a decision.
I
personally like the proposal and would like to see us try it at several State
Days this year. However, our
first decision is whether or not we will adopt the proposal.
Motion
4: I move that the Stableford
Competition document as submitted by Kathy Allbright and Jane Becker be
accepted as written.
