Seniors' Results

Cindy Paquet of Essex won the 2008 Ruth Raymond Jones Memorial Seniors' Championship at Burlington Country Club. Cindy shot a final round of 77 for a 158 total to win by four strokes over Deb Fletcher of Enosburg Falls. First round leader Shari Pfannenstein of Killington, who fired a 79 in the opening round, finished in third place with a 168. Susie Bremner of Rocky Ridge finished in fourth place with a 169 total. Susie also won the putting contest in a playoff on Thursday. Mary Corey of Cedar Knoll was fifth with a 171 total. Ginnie Vogel and Kathy Allbright, both of Crown Point, were tied for sixth with scores of 172. Ginnie also was the Legend Trophy winner. Pam Engel of Dorset was eight at 173 and was also the winner of the Super Senior Trophy. Carolyn Swiatek of the host Burlington club was ninth at 174. Kathy Mee of Williston and Maureen Quinn of Lake St. Catherine rounded out the top ten with scores of 175.
Carole Cole of Alburg was the low net winner in a playoff with Mary Ann Athanas of Burlington. Both players had net scores of 137. Carole won the first playoff hole for the low net title. Margie McBurney of Manchester and tournament chair Diane Peters were tied for third net with scores of 139.

New Seniors' Championship tradition - Best "Senior Moment"
While Diane Ewald was preparing to chip to the 4th green, her pull cart and clubs headed for the water hazard for a swim. Unfortunately, she lost her Sky Caddy.
Ginnie Vogel addressed her putt and took her backswing before realizing she hadn't replaced her ball and was about to putt her ball marker.
