Letter from the VSWGA Board
Dear VSWGA Members,
The Board of Directors has discussed and addressed many issues in the past year and will continue to do so in the coming year. One thing is clear in these discussions, there are a variety of opinions about how best to handle any particular issue that is before us. The economy makes some of these decisions all the more difficult as we endeavor to predict things beyond our control.
Because it is a volunteer Board and because everyone has a busy life, it is hard to best capture the opinions of the membership at large. The fall meeting with the Club Representatives is designed to do this but is constrained by time both with respect to the meeting and with respect to fully articulating the opinions of others being represented.
It is generally in the middle of the season or in the middle of a tournament that the strongest opinions are experienced regarding what “should” happen or what the Board “should” have done. It is in recognition of this fact that we would invite any member at large to feel free to e-mail Tracy at tjs@sover.net to articulate your opinions or feelings. The one thing that we ask is that you spend as much time offering a constructive solution as you spend identifying a problem.
With this information in hand, along with information gathered at the fall meeting, we may find ourselves in a better position to understand what is important to the participants who take the time to let us know.
One problem that we face as an organization is how best to address the backlog of course ratings that need to be update. We are in search of as many people as possible to help out with that task.
It
is the board’s desire to serve the VWSGA membership in the best way we can
and to openly invite all who are willing to assist us in that effort.
Tracy
