Reggie Parker Wins Seniors’

Reggie Parker of Ekwanok fired a final round of one-under-par 72 in the VSWGA Ruth Raymond Jones Seniors' Championship today at Neshobe Golf Club.  She won the championship by a substantial 15-stroke margin with a total of 148.  Susie Bremner of Rocky Ridge played two steady rounds of 80 and 83 but was unable to keep pace with Reggie who started the day with a birdie on the difficult 1st hole.  Mary Corey of Cedar Knoll shot the second best round of the day of 80 which featured a one-under-par 35 on the back nine.  Mary finished in third place with a total of 166 and was also the low net winner.  Shari Pfannenstein of Killington was next with a  total of 172.  She was followed by Pam Engel of Dorset and Deb Fletcher of Enosburg Falls at 173.  Four players were tied at 174 including Maureen Quinn of Lake St. Catherine, Nancy Gorham-LaSante of St. Johnsbury, and Ginnie Vogel of Crown Point.  Dorothy Cleary of Mt. Anthony was next at 175.  Four more players were tied at 176 including Diane Ewald of Rutland, Kathy Kemp of Barre, Cindy Paquet of Essex, and Jane Horton of Orleans.


Jean Witchekowski of Killington was the second low net winner with a net total of 141 in a match of cards win over Judy Manley of Brattleboro.  Ruby Gorham of St. Johnsbury was next with a net total of 144.  Josephine Herrera of Vermont National was next at 145 followed by Gail Canedy of West Bolton, Eva Mastalos of Ralph Myhre, and Cindy Meyer of Brattleboro, and Carolyn Barbieri of Green Mountain National at 146.  Rounding out the top ten net was Ann Rainey of West Bolton at 147.


The Super Senior Trophy was won by Pam Engel and the Legend Trophy was won by Ginnie Vogel.  The Pat Job Cup was Won by Rutland.  Susie Bremner was the winner of the fewest putts contest.


Congratulations to Stephanie Venema of Montpelier for her hole-in-one on the 16th hole on Thursday.
