Erika Politano Wins Mid-Am
Erika
Politano of Crown Point added an 87 today to yesterday's 77 to hang on to
her opening round lead and win the 2009 Mid-Amateur Championship by two
strokes over former champion Ann O'Day. Erika had a two-day total of
164. Ann O'Day of Williston fired two rounds of 83 for a 166
total. Tiffany Maurycy of Williston fired an 80 which was the low
round of the day and finished in third place with a total of 167 tied with
Shelly Yusko of Quechee who had rounds of 81 and 86. Jeanne Morrissey
of Williston was 5th with two rounds of 84 for a 168 total.
Patti Haas of Killington was 6th at 173 followed by Kathy Kemp of Barre and Nancy Gorham-Lasante of St. Johnsbury both at 175. Sue Melvin of Proctor-Pittsford was 9th at 176 and Kathy Allbright of Crown Point was 10th at 177.
Regi Wahl of Williston was the low net winner with a net total of 144 winning by three strokes over Eileen Ranslow of Brattleboro. Debbie Basford of Burlington and Eva Mastalos of Ralph Myhre were tied for third at 150. Trish Wade of Crown Point was 5th at 153 followed by Mickey Potwin of Lake Morey and Nancy Murphy of Proctor-Pittsford at 154. Sarah Lee of Equinox and Bonnie Tuscany of Williston were next at 155 followed by Judy Manley of Brattleboro at 156.
Williston won the Margaret Dick Cup.
