Message Board Tips

Currently, there are 48 registered message board users with 39 threads (topics) and 126 posts.  There are seven forums (Administration, State Days, Championships, Rules, Miscellaneous, Local Tournaments and Flea Market).

Other than the usual comments, questions, suggestions, and complaints about golf issues, there are many other potential uses for the message board.  Here are just a few:

• Rules questions 

• Selling or buying equipment

• Finding a partner for a best-ball tournament

• Posting information about a tournament at your club

• Carpooling to meetings or tournaments

• Exchanging golf jokes

• Exchanging information on course season openings and closings

Thanks to user "noturtleforme" for trying to get things going last fall with courses which were open and with a humorous Thanksgiving recipe.  Unfortunately, no one else was logging in to see her postings and respond.

The hardest part of using the message board appears to be getting registered.  You can view everything that has been posted without registering or logging in, but you must be registered and logged in to post anything.  Here are the steps involved in registering:

1. Enter the password for the message board.  If you don't know this password (which is the same as you initial password for Chelsea system), email me at capaquet@msn.com and I will give you the password.  The box for entering the password is in the center of the screen.  You might have to scroll down a little to see it.  It is a white box which says "Please enter the message board password:" with a box for typing the password below.  You can check the automatic log in option, if you wish.  After you have typed the password, click the "Submit" button.
   

2. Then, click on the Register tab at the top left of the screen.  You will see an online registration form.  You must fill in your choice of username and password and your valid email address.  There are other options and preferences which you can fill in and select as desired.  When you are finished, click the "Submit" button.
   

3. Exit the message board and check your email.
   

4. Important! The message board with send you a confirmation email.  You must open this email and click the confirmation link in order for your registration to be complete.  If you don't see this email within a few minutes, check your junk mail.  The email will have "Message Board" as the sender and "Confirm your message board registration" as a subject.  The message will say "Thank you for your message board registration for the username "--------".  To begin using your account, please confirm it by clicking here or by copying and pasting the URL below into your browser.  http://vswga.websitetoolbox.com/.................".  Click the "clicking here" link.  This will put you into the message board where it will say "Your account has been confirmed".
   

5. You are now fully registered and free to use all the message board features once you are loggin in.

Logging In:

1. Enter the message password as above.
   

2. In the Login box at the top right of the screen, enter the username and password that you registered above and the click the "Login" button.
