Final State Day Awards and Luncheon
The Final State Day Awards Luncheon was held Tuesday at The Quechee Club. This year's luncheon was a celebration of the VSWGA's 80th year. Here is a link to the You Tube video put together by Patti Haas showing the VSWGA, past and present: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyiGYEkKe-A
Three players had holes-in-one during the season and received a chit for $100 for their efforts. They were:
Erika Politano of Crown Point during Mid-Am at Haystack on 9/12/09
Ellen Carleton of Tater Hill at Okemo Valley on 5/18/10
Bonnie Heald of Rutland at Okemo Valley on 5/18/10
The players who lowered their handicaps the most during the season were:
Division A: Mary Brush of Burlington (-3.4 from 12.8 to 9.4)
Division B: Eileen Ranslow of Brattleboro (-5.9 from 19.8 to 13.9)
Division C: Geri Orton of Montpelier (-5.3 from 20.9 to 15.6)
Division D: Donna Mazut of Vermont National (-3.4)
Division E: Susie Ewins of Enosburg Falls (-5.6)
Eileen Ranslow won the Genevieve Babbit Smith Memorial Trophy for lowering her handicap the most overall.
Jeanne Morrissey of Williston was the winner of the Janet Lang Trophy for the most individual points during the season with 130 points. This is the seventh time that Jeanne has won the trophy and the third consecutive win.
The Mae Murray Jones Trophy for the club with the most points points went to Williston in Division 1 with 75 points, and West Bolton in Division 2 with 58. The Links at Lang Farm and Lake St. Catherine were tied in Division 3 with 26 points.. This is West Bolton's seventh win. Lake St. Catherine has won three times.
