Sue Horton Headed for Futures Tour


Susan Horton, three-time Vermont state champion, has recently graduated from Texas Christian University and now plans to join the Futures Tour, the official developmental tour for the LPGA.

While at TCU, Susan played on the golf team all four years with a career scoring average of 78.02. Her career at TCU included an individual medalist win at the 1996 Colorado Cow-Girl Classic as well as seven top ten finishes. She also fired a second round score of 69 at the 1997 Colorado State Fall Classic. In December of 1997, she was ranked 48th in the Mastercard Collegiate golf rankings.

Susan will turn pro this month and begin her professional career at the Greater Lima Futures Open June 18-22 in Lima, Ohio. She will also play in the Smartspikes Futures Classic at Green Mountain National here in Killington July 22-24. She has played in this tournament as an amateur since it's beginning in 1996. She plans to play every event remaining this season on the Futures Tour and then attend the LPGA qualifying school this fall.
